Rajab Butt and Nadeem Nani wala receive interim bail from Lahore court

Published on: January 26, 2026 4:41 PM

A Lahore sessions court on Monday extended the interim bail of TikTok personalities Rajab Butt and Nadeem Mubarak, popularly known as Nani Wala, in a case linked to gambling app promotion. The court allowed both influencers to remain free until February 16 while the investigation continues, giving them temporary relief from possible arrest.

The hearing took place before Additional Sessions Judge Mansoor Ahmad Qureshi, where both accused appeared after their earlier bail period expired. Meanwhile, the court reviewed their interim bail petitions and heard arguments from both sides before deciding to extend the relief under the same legal conditions.

During the proceedings, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency submitted its case record and told the court that the investigation was still incomplete. Therefore, the agency requested more time to gather digital evidence and finalise the inquiry related to the alleged promotion of the gambling application.

The judge noted that the investigating officer had already been given time to submit a detailed report, which has not yet been filed. As a result, the court decided it was fair to grant the accused more time on bail until the next hearing date, scheduled for February 16.

The case against Rajab Butt and Nadeem Mubarak was registered after authorities accused them of promoting a gambling app through their online content. Officials believe such promotions can mislead young audiences and violate cyber and gambling laws, especially on social media platforms.

However, both TikTokers maintain that they are cooperating with the investigation and will follow all court directions. Meanwhile, the case highlights growing legal scrutiny of digital influencers, as regulators aim to control harmful and illegal online promotions across Pakistan.
