Australian captain Mitchell Marsh praised Pakistan star Babar Azam, calling him the best player, ahead of the three-match T20I series. He said the series is a crucial preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Both teams aim to fine-tune strategies and combinations.

Marsh said he respects Babar Azam for his consistency and international impact. He highlighted the mutual admiration between players and emphasized that competitive matches against Pakistan will sharpen Australia’s readiness.

The Australian captain expressed excitement about touring Pakistan, saying he did not expect the cold weather in Lahore. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s rich fast-bowling tradition and said his team is ready to face world-class pacers.

Despite some key absentees, Australia’s 17-member squad arrived in Lahore for the series starting Thursday at Gaddafi Stadium. Marsh and Josh Inglis may miss the first match, with Travis Head expected to captain in their absence. The second and third T20Is will be played on January 31 and February 1.
