41 India-backed terrorists killed in Balochistan operations

Published on: January 31, 2026 2:06 AM

Security forces killed at least 41 terrorists belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan, in two separate operations in Balochistan.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday that an intelligence based operation (IBO) was conducted in outskirts of Harnai District on reported presence of Fitna al Khwarij.

During the operation, Pakistani troops effectively engaged the hideout, and after an intense fire exchange, 30 Indian sponsored Khawarij were killed. The military’s media wing said a large cache of ammunition and explosives were also recovered from them and destroyed on the spot.

Moreover, in other operation in Panjgur District, a terrorist hideout was busted and 11 Indian sponsored terrorists of Fitna al Hindustan were neutralized.

“Besides weapons and ammunition, looted money from bank robbery in Panjgur on 15 December 2025 was also recovered from the killed terrorists.

The terrorists were involved in numerous terrorist activities in the past.”

The ISPR said that sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorist found in the area.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the security forces and said that effective actions against terrorists such as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna-e-Hindustan reflect the state’s unwavering resolve.

“The vigilance of the security forces and law enforcement agencies in completely eliminating proxy terrorism in the country is commendable,” the president said.

Moreover, Prime Minister Shehbaz also lauded the security forces and said that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan’s armed forces in this war against terrorism. news desk

Separately, a security official on Friday denied reports of a large-scale military operation in the Tirah region as “propaganda”, saying only intelligence-based operations (IBOs) are under way as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts.

Briefing media representatives in Karachi on Friday, a security official said there has been no major military offensive in Tirah, rejecting what they described as “false and baseless propaganda” suggesting otherwise.

“Over the past three years, only intelligence-based operations have been conducted against Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan,” the security official said, adding that IBOs remain the most effective method for countering terrorism.

The official said actions against terrorists are being carried out strictly on the basis of intelligence inputs and will continue until the elimination of the last terrorist.

They also denied any increase in troop deployments in Tirah, saying no new checkpoints have been established and that there were no restrictions on movement into or out of the area. They further added that current weather conditions are not suitable for launching any large-scale military operation.

“The nexus between terrorists and criminal elements has been exposed,” the official said, adding that no narrative could weaken the relationship between the armed forces and the public. They added that all decisions in tribal areas are taken in consultation with local elders and tribal communities, with due consideration given to local conditions and traditions.

Referring to Balochistan, the security official said Fitna al-Hindustan groups were enemies of public welfare and development, adding that the people of the province had recognised militants who exploit grievances and claims of deprivation to justify acts of terrorism.

The briefing concluded with the official reiterating their commitment to counterterrorism operations while maintaining cooperation with local communities.
