Frozen 3 Isn't Happening (Yet), Says Josh Gad

LOS ANGELES, February 3, 2026 — Disney’s beloved animated franchise Frozen is returning with a third sequel, as Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf the snowman, teased fans with an Instagram post hinting at the upcoming film.

Gad shared a photo of himself holding a stuffed snowman alongside the movie’s creators and animators. In the caption, he wrote: “3rd is always the charm. Time to build another snowman. #frozen3.” The playful post signals that production is progressing well on the next installment, coming seven years after the previous movie.

The sequel will see Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy returning as directors, both of whom have been integral to the franchise’s success. Disney first confirmed Frozen 3 in 2023, officially marking the project as underway.

Recent reports revealed that Gad, Kristen Bell (Anna), and Idina Menzel (Elsa) signed record-breaking contracts for Frozen 3 and Frozen 4, reportedly the highest pay ever awarded to voice actors in animation history. Kristen Bell, speaking to Variety, confirmed she has read the script but remained tight-lipped: “That’s all I can say. I’m under lock and key.”

Fans can look forward to the movie’s global release on November 24, 2027. With the returning cast, beloved characters, and a story that continues Elsa and Anna’s adventures, anticipation is high for what promises to be another magical chapter in the Frozen universe.
