Published on: February 6, 2026 4:15 PM

Iran and the United States are holding high-stakes negotiations in Oman today. The talks aim to address Iran’s nuclear programme. However, deep mistrust and growing war fears dominate the diplomatic atmosphere.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Iran is engaging in good faith. He stressed that past commitments must be honored. He also demanded equal standing, mutual respect, and recognition of Iran’s rights.

Tensions remain elevated after US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites in June. Tehran claims uranium enrichment has since stopped. Still, Iran fears President Donald Trump may authorize further military action.
