US stands with Pakistan after Balochistan attacks

Published on: February 6, 2026 5:30 PM

The United States reaffirmed its support for Pakistan following recent militant attacks in Balochistan. The US emphasized its commitment to holding the perpetrators accountable. The statement came from the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA).

The bureau described the attacks as “horrific” and said it stands steadfast with Pakistan during this challenging time. It also noted that the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) remains a designated Foreign Terrorist Organisation (FTO). The Majeed Brigade, an alias of BLA, is also on the FTO list.

Pakistan’s security forces recently concluded Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1 targeting militant networks across Balochistan. The ISPR reported that 216 terrorists were eliminated and a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was seized.

The operation followed attacks on January 31 that killed 36 civilians, including women and children, and 22 security personnel. The military alleged involvement of Indian-sponsored elements in the coordinated assaults.
