Trailer hints at chaos and comedy in Aag Lagay Basti Mein

Published on: February 10, 2026 3:00 PM

Fahad Mustafa announces 'Aag Lagay Basti Mein' trailer release date

The age-old saying that “nice guys finish last” appears to be at the heart of Aag Lagay Basti Mein, as the first trailer of Bilal Atif Khan’s upcoming slapstick comedy was released on Monday, offering a glimpse into a world of chaos, crime, and comedy. The film is scheduled to hit cinemas on Eidul Fitr.

Starring Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan in the lead roles, the film introduces Barkat, an honest and hardworking man who struggles to get ahead, and Almaas, his fed-up wife who believes his principled approach to life has brought them nothing but hardship. Their chemistry sets the tone for a story that blends domestic frustration with criminal misadventure.

Initially working as cleaners, the couple decide to turn to petty crime in hopes of improving their financial situation — a move that appears to be driven largely by Almaas. However, what begins as small-time wrongdoing quickly spirals into something far bigger, drawing the attention of seasoned criminals and raising the stakes considerably.

Veteran actor Javed Sheikh appears as a crime boss, while comedian Tabish Hashmi takes on what seems to be the role of the primary antagonist. The supporting cast also includes Shehzaadi Samra, best known for her viral “accha jee, aisa hai kya” meme, who makes a brief cameo.

The trailer is packed with guns, fast cars, punchlines, and visual gags, while also offering glimpses into Barkat and Almaas’ strained married life. One notable scene shows Mustafa in a torn prison jumpsuit, hinting that Barkat’s foray into crime may not end well.

An earlier teaser released in January teased similar themes of confusion and excess, referencing the fable of the goose that laid golden eggs. With familiar faces and a strong Karachi vibe, Aag Lagay Basti Mein promises hijinks, humour, and high-energy entertainment.
