Russian drone attack kills one in Odesa

Published on: February 13, 2026 4:30 PM

One person was killed and six others injured in a Russian drone attack on a port in Ukraine’s Odesa region, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba said Friday. The strikes targeted port and railway facilities, escalating ongoing attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure. Civilians, transport operators, and local authorities were affected.

Kuleba reported on his Telegram channel that Russia conducted massive strikes against port and railway infrastructure. In addition to Odesa, railway networks in the Dnipropetrovsk region were also hit, disrupting logistics and transport. Emergency teams responded quickly to assess damage and assist the injured.

The attack comes amid continued tensions in the Black Sea region, where Ukraine’s ports remain strategically important. Observers note that hitting both maritime and rail infrastructure may slow supply routes and hamper trade. Analysts warned the strikes could further escalate regional security concerns.

Ukraine’s authorities urged civilians to remain alert and follow safety measures. Security services continue to monitor for additional drone attacks. Local hospitals confirmed treatment of the injured and are on high alert for further casualties.

This assault follows a series of Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure in recent months. Officials continue to call for international support and heightened vigilance. The full extent of the damage to the port and railway facilities is still being evaluated.
