Iran urges region to solve conflicts peacefully

Published on: February 14, 2026 11:30 PM

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said regional countries can resolve problems collectively and peacefully without external guardianship. His remarks at the Iran Corridor 2026 conference emphasized regional self-reliance and cooperation. The statement comes amid rising tensions with the United States over nuclear and security issues.

Speaking in Tehran, Pezeshkian stressed that nations must create conditions for peace, security, and stability for current and future generations. He said conflict and violence harm development and no country benefits from war. His comments highlighted Iran’s commitment to diplomatic solutions in the region.

The president praised efforts by regional leaders to strengthen security and governance. He cited cooperation among Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Oman, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Pezeshkian described these efforts as proof that nations can work together calmly and effectively without external interference.

Pezeshkian also highlighted Iran’s “deep and extensive” ties with Russia, noting that agreements at the conference reflect concrete implementation rather than symbolic commitments. He emphasized swift action to remove obstacles and deliver results, signaling Iran’s proactive role in regional projects.

His remarks follow US President Donald Trump’s support for potential regime change in Iran amid economic protests. Indirect talks between Iran and the US in Muscat recently focused on Tehran’s nuclear program, after months of suspension. Iran has repeatedly refused to discuss missiles or regional military support in negotiations.
