CDF Munir links Pakistan’s security to UAE’s stability

Published on: February 17, 2026 12:36 AM

Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE across various sectors, particularly in the fields of economic collaboration, investment and security.

The development came during a meeting between both the dignitaries in Abu Dhabi, the military’s media wing said in a statement.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), they also exchanged views on regional developments and emphasised the importance of continued coordination to promote peace and stability in the region.

Field Marshal Munir expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to the government of the UAE for its longstanding investments and continued support to Pakistan’s economy and security over the decades.

“Such support reflects the deep-rooted historical relations between the two brotherly countries and commended the constructive role of the UAE leadership in advancing economic and social development in Pakistan,” he said.

COAS Munir further affirmed that the security and stability of the UAE were an integral part of Pakistan’s own security, given the enduring historical relations and strong strategic partnership between the two countries.

He reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to continuing joint efforts to further strengthen this partnership in all fields, in a manner that serves the interests of both brotherly peoples and contributes to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.

The development comes as Pakistan is on a spree to engage different countries to strengthen its economic and defence collaboration.

A day ago, Army Chief Munir met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Germany and discussed matters of mutual interest, including global and regional security dynamics and counterterrorism cooperation.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of 62nd Munich Security Conference.
