Diamond Paints/Master Paints charge into Allied Bank 97th Punjab Polo Cup final

Published on: February 19, 2026 10:15 PM

LAHORE: Diamond Paints/Master Paints secured their place in the grand final of the historic Allied Bank 97th Punjab Polo Cup after a decisive victory over the Lahore Polo Club team on the third day of the tournament.

The event, organised by the Lahore Polo Club in collaboration with Allied Bank, saw a large turnout of spectators and families who gathered to witness the high-octane matches of this prestigious tournament. The proceedings were attended by the President of Lahore Polo Club, Malik Azam Hayat Noon, along with members of the Executive Committee and Secretary Maj (retd) Amjad Ghafoor.

Diamond Paints/Master Paints displayed superior tactical play and coordination, ultimately defeating Lahore Polo Club with a convincing scoreline of 10-4 ½. The standout performer for the winning side was Mir Huzaifa Ahmed, who delivered a masterclass in offensive play by netting four goals. He was ably supported by Amirreza Behbudi, who contributed a hat-trick (three goals), while Facundo Retamar Carnero scored twice and Raja Jalal Arslan added a single goal to the tally.

Despite the lopsided score, Lahore Polo Club’s Hissam Ali Hyder put up a valiant fight. Demonstrating exceptional individual skill, Hyder scored all four of his team’s goals. However, the collective strength and scoring depth of Diamond Paints proved too much for the home side to overcome.

With this victory, Diamond Paints/Master Paints have cemented their status as tournament favorites. The 97th Punjab Polo Cup continues to uphold its tradition of excellence, serving as a cornerstone of the Pakistani polo season and attracting the nation’s top equestrian talent.
