PSL 11: Sialkot Stallions renamed Multan Sultans

Published on: March 3, 2026 10:15 PM

Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 has officially rebranded the Sialkot Stallions franchise as the Multan Sultans, PSL CEO Salman Naseer confirmed. The announcement was made at a joint press conference attended by franchise owner Hamza Majeed and CD Ventures chairman Gohar Shah. The change comes ahead of the tournament starting March 26, 2026.

The original Sialkot Stallions franchise was acquired by OZ Developers for Rs18.5 billion during the Islamabad team auction for ten years. The company later formed a strategic partnership with CD Ventures, appointing Gohar Shah as the new CEO and renaming the team to better represent southern Punjab.

According to Salman Naseer, the franchise’s annual valuation has now increased to Rs2 billion. He said Gohar Shah requested the name change upon assuming the CEO role, which was promptly approved. The team will now compete as the Multan Sultans in PSL 11.

Gohar Shah emphasized that maintaining Multan’s identity in the league was crucial. He stated that “an individual Stallion cannot win PSL alone; the Stallion now needs a Sultan,” underlining their ambition to strengthen southern Punjab’s representation.

The press conference also addressed recent speculation regarding financial challenges and share sales by OZ Developers. PSL 11 is scheduled from March 26 to May 3, 2026, with the Multan Sultans officially joining the tournament as a rebranded franchise.
