PIA allowed two daily flights to UAE

Published on: March 4, 2026 8:47 PM

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been granted permission to operate two daily flights to the United Arab Emirates. The national carrier will fly one daily flight to Dubai and another to Abu Dhabi. The development restores international connectivity amid regional airspace adjustments.

PIA sources said flights to Riyadh and Medina continue as scheduled, with operations unaffected. However, flights to Dammam have been temporarily suspended following recent missile attacks near Bahrain. Authorities expect Dammam services to resume soon.

For Saudi Arabia, flights are currently routed via the Arabian Sea and Yemen to ensure safety. Meanwhile, flights to Europe and Canada operate via Afghanistan’s Wakhan Corridor and Tajikistan to avoid conflict zones. PIA maintains careful monitoring of regional airspace conditions to ensure passenger safety.

The airline said it is coordinating with aviation authorities to adapt schedules and routes as necessary. Officials emphasized that passenger safety remains the top priority. Flights will continue to follow international regulations while navigating alternative air corridors.

The restoration of UAE flights supports business and tourism travel between Pakistan and the Gulf region. PIA continues efforts to maintain international routes while adjusting for regional security and geopolitical developments.
