Pezeshkian: Iran won’t attack neighboring states

Published on: March 7, 2026 8:36 PM

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian assured that the country will not launch attacks or missiles against neighboring nations. In a statement, Pezeshkian expressed regret over recent incidents, apologizing to neighboring countries and emphasizing that Iran has no intention to strike other nations. He noted that the interim leadership council has approved a policy to avoid attacks on neighboring states.

Pezeshkian added that Iran will refrain from military action as long as neighboring territories do not threaten Iranian soil. “We hold no hostility toward regional countries and will not initiate aggression,” he said, highlighting Iran’s defensive stance.

He further stated that Iran will not surrender to pressure from the United States or Israel. “The enemy will not force the Iranian people to lay down their arms,” Pezeshkian warned, asserting the country’s resolve.

The announcement follows Iranian strikes targeting U.S. military bases in neighboring countries in retaliation for attacks on Iran. These retaliatory actions caused injuries among civilians and heightened regional security concerns, prompting international attention.
