Trump threatens expanded attacks on Iran

Published on: March 7, 2026 10:41 PM

US President Donald Trump warned that Iran would be “hit very hard” on Saturday, signaling possible escalation in military operations. Speaking on Truth Social, he said the administration is considering expanding the areas and groups being targeted, though he did not provide specific details.

Trump described the potential strikes as involving “complete destruction and certain death” due to Iran’s “bad behavior,” indicating a serious intensification of US actions. He stressed that some areas and groups, previously not considered for targeting, are now under review for possible attack.

The president also claimed that Iran had apologized to its neighboring countries for recent strikes, framing it as a form of surrender. He used this to argue that US pressure and prior attacks had forced Iran to reconsider its actions against regional neighbors.

Observers noted that Trump’s post comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, with US and allied operations already impacting Iran’s military infrastructure. Analysts warn that the rhetoric may increase regional instability and could provoke retaliatory responses from Tehran.

The developments follow previous US strikes on Iran’s military and nuclear-linked facilities, which Trump has described as successful in weakening the country’s capabilities. His latest warning signals the possibility of a broader campaign targeting additional areas and groups, further escalating the conflict.
