Bukhari enjoyed a long and distinguished career, known for his roles in both Urdu and Punjabi dramas and films. His last acting project was the 2024 PTV drama serial Tootay Pattay. He also appeared in classic television productions such as Sona Chandi (1982) and Andhera Ujala (1984), as well as films including Dubai Chalo (1979) and Badmash Gujjar (2001).

In recognition of his contributions to the entertainment industry, Asim Bukhari was honored with the Presidential Pride of Performance Award, highlighting his enduring impact on Pakistan’s cultural landscape.

The actor had previously faced serious health challenges in July when a heart attack, coupled with fluid in his lungs and reduced kidney function, forced him into the hospital. Remarkably, he had made a full recovery and returned home before his recent decline.

Fans and colleagues expressed their grief on social media following news of Bukhari’s passing, remembering him as a versatile actor whose work spanned decades and left a lasting mark on both television and cinema.
