Turkey issues stern warning against civil war in Iran

Published on: March 13, 2026 1:45 AM

ANKARA: Turkey has issued a strong warning against attempts to incite civil war and division in Iran. The Turkish Foreign Minister said authorities are monitoring plans to divide Iran along religious lines, warning that separatist movements are being fueled to destabilize the country. Ankara emphasized it will oppose any schemes threatening Iran’s unity and regional stability.

The Turkish minister stressed that attempts to provoke chaos in Iran will not be tolerated. “Those plotting dangerous adventures in the region should not underestimate our resolve,” he said. Ankara maintains that any wrong step against Iran is unacceptable and will be firmly resisted.

Officials noted that foreign and domestic actors are allegedly supporting separatist groups to weaken Tehran. Turkey considers these moves a serious threat to regional security, with potential spillover effects for neighboring countries. Diplomatic channels have been engaged to communicate Ankara’s position clearly to all stakeholders.

Analysts say Turkey’s statement reflects rising concerns over regional instability amid ongoing Middle East conflicts. The warning signals Ankara’s commitment to safeguarding neighboring countries’ sovereignty and deterring external interference in Iran’s internal affairs.

Turkey reiterated that maintaining peace and stability in the region is a shared responsibility. Authorities called for careful monitoring of all developments in Iran and urged dialogue over provocative actions.
