Chairing a meeting to review the progress of ongoing development projects under the provincial Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), the chief minister emphasised the need to provide better and safer travel facilities for the public. He warned that negligence in implementing development initiatives would not be tolerated.

During the meeting, officials briefed the chief minister on various ongoing projects across the province. They informed him that work on a project to provide fibre-optic internet connectivity to 1,100 educational institutions in Balochistan is progressing rapidly and is expected to be completed within the next six months. In the next phase, authorities are considering a plan to connect all educational institutions, hospitals and government offices to the fibre-optic network to promote digital governance and modern public services.

Officials also updated the meeting on the Enterprises Development Programme, which aims to equip youth with vocational skills and connect around 60,000 young people with employment and business opportunities, thereby boosting economic activity in the province.

The meeting was further informed about the establishment of complaint cells at the tehsil and provincial levels to address public grievances more effectively. Meanwhile, officials said work on clean drinking water schemes is underway in union councils across Balochistan to ensure safe water supply to residents.

Regarding municipal services, authorities said modern machinery will be provided to 95 municipal committees by June 30 to improve sanitation and other local services. Plans are also in place to construct two additional classrooms in 4,000 single-room schools and to continue efforts to bring out-of-school children back into the education system.
