Court extended bail of TikTokers in gambling promotion case

Published on: March 18, 2026 9:59 AM

Lahore — A sessions court in Lahore on Tuesday extended the interim pre-arrest bail of TikTokers Rajab Butt and Nadeem Mubarak, also known as Naniwala, in a case related to the alleged promotion of online gambling applications on social media.

The hearing was conducted by Additional District and Sessions Judge Mansoor Ahmad Qureshi, who reviewed the bail petitions as the previous relief period expired. Both accused appeared before the court, after which the judge directed the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to present the complete investigation record. The interim bail for both individuals has been extended until March 26.

The case dates back to September 2025, when the NCCIA registered a complaint against the content creators, accusing them of promoting gambling platforms through their social media accounts. Authorities have been investigating the extent of their involvement and the impact of such promotions.

In a separate development, the Lahore High Court granted bail to three men accused of producing and selling substandard milk and allegedly attacking officials of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA).

The court approved bail for two of the suspects, Waseem Ashiq and Gulfam, against surety bonds of Rs100,000 each. During proceedings, the defence counsel argued that the case, registered on the complaint of a food safety officer, lacked merit.

According to the prosecution, the accused were involved in manufacturing adulterated milk, and authorities had recovered materials including lotion, mixing machines, and storage drums from their possession. However, the defence highlighted inconsistencies between initial and subsequent investigations, raising doubts about the allegations.

Despite opposition from the prosecution, the court granted bail, noting the contested nature of the evidence presented.
