Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti announced that security forces successfully foiled a major terrorist plot in Quetta by arresting a female suicide bomber before she could carry out an attack. He described the operation as a critical achievement that prevented potential loss of innocent lives and strengthened ongoing efforts to ensure peace and stability across the province.
Moreover, speaking at a press conference alongside provincial officials, Bugti praised the swift and coordinated response of security agencies. He emphasized that intelligence-based operations continue to play a vital role in counterterrorism efforts, enabling authorities to act proactively against threats and dismantle networks before they can execute dangerous plans.

According to officials, the suspect, identified as Laiba, is a 19-year-old resident of Khuzdar district who was allegedly recruited and radicalized for a suicide mission. During the briefing, she revealed that a militant commander named Ibrahim had assigned her the task, while also directing her to recruit and train other young women for similar operations.
Furthermore, investigations uncovered links between the suspect and banned militant organizations, including the Balochistan Liberation Army, along with connections to other facilitators and networks. Authorities stated that the intelligence-led operation not only led to her arrest but also exposed broader terrorist infrastructure operating within and beyond the region.

Meanwhile, Bugti reiterated concerns about cross-border support for militant groups, alleging that elements in Afghanistan continue to provide safe havens for terrorists. He also stressed that such groups are exploiting women and manipulating ethnic narratives to mislead individuals, highlighting the need for greater vigilance and awareness within communities.
He further noted that the people of Balochistan have strongly rejected terrorism and are actively cooperating with law enforcement agencies by sharing intelligence. The government, he added, is focusing on education, employment opportunities, and community engagement to prevent radicalization, while security forces remain committed to eliminating threats and maintaining lasting peace.
