ISLAMABAD — Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Thursday that India is showing “growing anxiety” over Pakistan’s proactive role in promoting resolution amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Tarar highlighted Pakistan’s increasing influence on the global stage, crediting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for strengthening the country’s diplomatic position. He noted that the international community has recognized Pakistan’s efforts, particularly during recent high-level meetings in Geneva.

“Pakistan has emerged as a strong and effective voice on the global stage, and the extraordinary developments witnessed at the Geneva meeting reflect this,” he said, emphasizing the nation’s credibility and constructive engagement in international affairs.

The minister stressed that while criticism is a democratic right, national dignity must not be compromised. “No political leader is bigger than the country. National interest must always come first, and no political party or individual can stand above Pakistan,” Tarar remarked.

He also condemned propaganda targeting Pakistan, urging citizens and politicians to prioritize the nation over personal egos or political self-interest. Tarar warned that attempts to undermine Pakistan’s achievements abroad would not be tolerated, saying those speaking against the country “should feel shame.”

Analysts note that Pakistan’s recent diplomatic visibility, particularly in mediating talks between the United States and Iran, has elevated its profile, while simultaneously drawing attention and scrutiny from regional powers, including India. The Information Minister’s statements appear aimed at reinforcing domestic confidence in the country’s foreign policy initiatives and countering external criticism.

Pakistan’s strengthened diplomatic posture underscores its commitment to regional stability, conflict resolution, and safeguarding its national interests, even amid complex geopolitical challenges.
