Promotion of SMEs top priority of govt: AJK PM

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister (PM) Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has said that the promotion of small, medium, and large industries were his government’s top priority.

“Concrete measures are being taken to boost industrial development, attract investment, and create employment opportunities in the region”, the PM said this while speaking to government Advisor Sardar Fahad Yaqoob who called on him on Sunday.

He noted that positive administrative changes have been introduced to facilitate investors and business persons. The present government, he said, was keen to create a conducive environment, encouraging investors and young entrepreneurs.” These initiatives have led to new job opportunities, strengthening the economy, and reducing unemployment”, he added.

Highlighting the importance of the digital economy, the PM said that the educated youth must focus not only on traditional sectors but also on the digital and modern economy. He further stated that the government was implementing a comprehensive policy to equip youth with skills, provide business opportunities, and strengthen the industrial sector to boost local economy.

The PM also mentioned that the government’s decision to set a minimum wage standard has resulted in improved earnings for workers. During the meeting, detailed discussions were also held regarding the party’s organizational situation, public outreach campaign, and preparations for the upcoming elections in District Poonch.
