Ishaq Dar welcomes Abbas Araghchi clarification

Published on: April 4, 2026 6:32 PM

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar welcomed remarks by Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi clarifying Iran’s position. Dar praised Araghchi for reaffirming that Iran never refused to travel to Islamabad for negotiations. The Iranian official also thanked Pakistan for its efforts toward a ceasefire in the ongoing regional tensions.

Araghchi previously stated that Iran supports negotiations in Islamabad and insists on a comprehensive and lasting end to the conflict. He criticized U.S. media for misrepresenting Iran’s stance on the war. His message emphasized dialogue and regional stability as key priorities.

The Iranian foreign minister referenced past Western reactions, including concerns over clashes near Ukraine’s nuclear power plant, to highlight perceived double standards in international reporting. He underscored Iran’s commitment to peaceful negotiation under fair conditions.
