Gold prices surge by Rs 15,700 per tola

The prices of gold increased in the local market on Wednesday, with 24 karat gold per tola rising by Rs 15,700 to settle at Rs 504,162 compared to Rs 488,462 on the previous trading day, according to rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold increased by Rs 13,460 to Rs 432,237 from Rs 418,777, whereas 10 grams of 22 karat gold went up by Rs 12,339 to Rs 396,231 against Rs 383,892. In the international market, the price of gold increased by $157 to $4,814 per ounce from $4,657. Meanwhile, the price of silver per tola increased by Rs 440 to Rs 8,184, while the price of 10 grams of silver rose by Rs 377 to Rs 7,016. The price of silver in the international market increased by $4.40 to $77.00 per ounce from $72.60.
