Bilawal hails Islamabad Talks breakthrough moment

Published on: April 11, 2026 11:29 PM

Former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has described the ongoing Islamabad Talks as a major breakthrough in de-escalation efforts. His remarks came during an interview in which he highlighted the importance of dialogue between the United States and Iran. The statement matters as it reflects growing political support for Pakistan’s mediation role.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the fact that negotiations are taking place is itself a significant achievement. He noted that the ceasefire has helped stop hostilities across parts of the Middle East. Moreover, he emphasized that both sides are now engaged in direct talks. This development signals progress toward possible long-term peace.

He further said that the world is watching the process with cautious optimism. In addition, he pointed to the heavy human and economic cost of the recent conflict. However, he warned that lasting peace will require continued diplomatic effort. Therefore, the current talks represent a critical opportunity for stability.

Bilawal also acknowledged the role of multiple countries in supporting the ceasefire process. He mentioned Pakistan, China, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Egypt, and Qatar. Furthermore, he said collective diplomatic efforts helped create space for negotiations. This reflects broad international involvement in reducing tensions.
