Chinese Information Resource Centre inaugurated at Civil Services Academy

A Chinese Information Resource Center was formally inaugurated at the Civil Services Academy (PAS Campus), Lahore, alongside a certificate distribution ceremony for officers who successfully completed the Chinese Language Course.

The Chief Guest of the ceremony was the Consul General of China in Lahore, Mr Sun Yan, while the session was chaired by Director General Civil Services Academy, Mr Farhan Aziz Khawaja. The Chief Guest distributed certificates among the officers who completed the Chinese Language Course and also planted a sapling in the academy lawn as a gesture of goodwill and environmental commitment.

Senior officials of the Civil Services Academy and members of the Chinese Consulate also attended the ceremony, including Director Civil Services Academy Dr Faisal Zahoor, Nadeem Sohail, Dr. Zafar Zaidi, Shahid Loon, Rana Hassan Afzal, Muhammad Umar Masood, Ms. Sophia Waraich, Naveed Elahi, Abrar Ali, Wang Sita, Ms. Li Yining, Ms Nazia Jabeen and Asif Mahmood Butt.The first batch of officers who completed the Chinese language course belonged to the 48th Specialized Training Program, while officers from the 54th Common Training Program also participated in the ceremony.In his address, Director General Civil Services Academy, Mr Farhan Aziz Khawaja, stated that the establishment of the Language Center is an important step toward strengthening Pakistan-China relations. He added that learning the Chinese language will enable officers to better respond to future diplomatic and administrative challenges.

He further said that the Civil Services Academy curriculum is designed in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan, principles of human rights, and state policies, while the training system has also been aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Chinese Consul General Mr. Sun Yan congratulated the officers who completed the course and appreciated the establishment of the Chinese Language Center at the academy. He noted that Pakistan-China relations are historic and unique in nature.

He further stated that under the current phase of CPEC, special focus is being given to industry, agriculture, and development to ensure greater benefits for the people of Pakistan.Mr. Sun Yan added that Pakistan and China are jointly contributing to the promotion of global peace, and emphasized the importance of professionals gaining proficiency in the Chinese language. He also expressed his commitment to continue encouraging the learning of Chinese language among Pakistani officers.
