NADRA warns public about fake visa websites

Published on: April 17, 2026 1:00 PM

ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a public advisory warning citizens about fake websites impersonating its online visa and identity-related services to collect sensitive personal information.

Officials said that cybercriminals have created multiple fake platforms using NADRA’s name to deceive users, particularly overseas Pakistanis seeking identity or visa-related services. These websites mimic official portals in an attempt to mislead applicants and steal personal data.

According to the advisory, several fraudulent websites have been identified, including “https://www.visa.nadragov.online/” and “https://applyevisa.com/pakistan/”. Authorities have confirmed that these platforms are not affiliated with NADRA and are being used for malicious purposes.

NADRA strongly urged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid entering personal details on unverified or suspicious websites. The authority emphasised that its official online services are only available through “https://visa.nadra.gov.pk/”, which is the legitimate government portal for relevant applications.

Officials further advised that genuine government websites in Pakistan always end with the “.gov.pk” domain, and users should carefully verify website addresses before submitting any personal information.

Official: Only use the official NADRA website: https://visa.nadra.gov.pk/ Always ensure the website ends with .gov.pk. Do not share your personal information on any site other than . gov.pk. pk. Report any suspicious websites to NADRA authorities."

The advisory also encourages the public to report any suspicious websites or online activity to the relevant authorities to help prevent fraud and protect citizens from identity theft and financial scams.

Cybersecurity experts warn that such impersonation schemes are increasingly common, especially targeting individuals unfamiliar with official digital platforms. They recommend verifying links through official government channels and avoiding advertisements or unsolicited messages that redirect to unknown sites.

The warning underscores the importance of digital awareness as more public services move online, making citizens more vulnerable to cyber fraud if proper precautions are not taken.
