Shehbaz Sharif meets Erdogan in Turkiye

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and attend the Antalya Diplomacy Forum today. He is participating in the leaders’ panel focused on global uncertainty and future challenges. The visit is significant as Pakistan engages in high-level diplomacy on regional peace issues.

The Prime Minister will present Pakistan’s perspective during the panel discussion at the forum. He is also expected to meet other world leaders on the sidelines of the event. Moreover, he will attend the forum’s inaugural ceremony in Antalya.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is also accompanying the delegation. He held talks with Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman on strengthening bilateral ties. Additionally, discussions covered regional developments and Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue.

Earlier, Dar also met Northern Cyprus Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu during the visit. Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in education and diaspora welfare. Furthermore, they committed to continued engagement for mutual benefit.

The trip follows earlier visits to Saudi Arabia and Qatar focused on regional peace efforts. Pakistan has been engaging Gulf and regional leaders amid Middle East tensions. However, officials say the goal remains promoting dialogue and supporting de-escalation initiatives.
