Pakistan reduces diesel, jet fuel rates

Published on: April 18, 2026 6:28 PM

Pakistan has reduced the prices of light diesel and jet fuel following a decline in global petroleum rates. The move provides relief to transport, aviation, and industrial sectors. It also reflects the impact of international oil market trends on domestic pricing.

According to official details, light diesel prices were cut by Rs70.04 per litre. The new price has dropped from Rs399.72 to Rs299.32 per litre. Jet fuel prices were also reduced by Rs23.59 per litre, bringing them down to Rs471.01 from Rs494.71.

Earlier, high-speed diesel prices had also been reduced by Rs32.12 per litre. The revised rate now stands at Rs353.43 per litre compared to the previous Rs385.54. These adjustments follow a broader downward trend in global energy markets.

Officials said the reductions are linked to falling international crude oil prices. They added that domestic fuel rates are adjusted in line with global benchmarks and exchange rate movements. This ensures alignment with import costs and market conditions.

The price cuts are expected to lower transportation costs and ease pressure on inflation. However, analysts say future changes will depend on global oil volatility. Consumers are likely to see further adjustments in upcoming review cycles.
