Rain, hail expected across Pakistan

Published on: April 18, 2026 11:00 PM

The National Disaster Management Authority has issued an alert warning of widespread rain, thunderstorms, and hail across Pakistan over the next 12 to 24 hours. The advisory highlights potential disruptions in multiple regions due to changing weather conditions.

According to NDMA, most parts of the country are expected to receive rainfall during this period. Upper regions, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, may also experience snowfall in mountainous areas. Authorities have advised caution for travelers.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is likely to see rain accompanied by thunderstorms and possible hailstorms. Similar wet conditions are expected in Islamabad and several areas of Punjab, where rainfall may affect daily movement and road safety.

In Balochistan, scattered rain with thunder has also been forecast. Officials warned that slippery roads and reduced visibility could create hazardous travel conditions. The public has been urged to avoid unnecessary travel in affected regions.
