Pakistani tech firm expands satellite internet services across Africa

Published on: April 21, 2026 4:41 PM

Pakistan’s technology sector has achieved a significant milestone as a local company successfully launched a satellite connectivity project in Africa. The initiative highlights the growing international presence of Pakistan’s digital industry and demonstrates how local technology firms are increasingly delivering advanced communication solutions beyond national borders.

A leading IT and telecom company, Supernet Global, has officially introduced satellite-based internet connectivity services in several African regions. The project represents an important step toward expanding Pakistan’s technological footprint internationally while also improving digital access in regions that lack reliable communication infrastructure.

The company successfully completed its first project in Tanzania, where high-capacity internet services are now being delivered through satellite technology. This system allows communities in remote or underserved areas to gain stable internet access without relying on traditional cable or fiber network infrastructure.

Satellite technology offers an efficient solution for regions where building conventional telecom networks remains difficult or expensive. By enabling faster deployment and dependable connectivity, the system helps bridge the digital divide while supporting education, business activities, and online services in isolated communities.

Furthermore, Supernet Global has announced plans to expand its operations across additional African countries in the coming years. The company aims to invest in information and communication technology infrastructure, cybersecurity solutions, and broader digital services to strengthen regional connectivity and support digital transformation initiatives.

Experts believe such international projects could increase Pakistan’s IT exports and generate higher foreign exchange earnings while enhancing the global reputation of its technology sector. Moreover, initiatives like this highlight Pakistan’s emerging position as a competitive and rapidly growing digital economy on the international stage.
