A new benchmark in urban living: Woodlands DHA City Karachi launched

Published on: April 22, 2026 9:35 AM

The official launch ceremony of Woodlands, DHA City Karachi was held on Saturday, 18th April, at the DHA Facilitation Center, followed by a groundbreaking ceremony at the project’s site-marking a significant milestone in the advancement of modern, master-planned communities in Pakistan.

The event featured a keynote address by Mr Shahbaz Taseer, who outlined the project’s forward-looking vision centered on sustainable, integrated, and premium living. He shared that the units designed to cater to contemporary urban lifestyles will be offered on a convenient three-year installment plan, making premium living more accessible to a wider segment of buyers. Mr. Taseer was accompanied by First Capital Group’s Director Finance, Mr. Imran Hafeez, along with the Group’s CFO, Waheed Asghar. The ceremony was graced by Murtaza Wahab, Mayor of Karachi, as the Chief Guest, along with senior officials from Defence Housing Authority (DHA). ADHA Karachi also delivered a formal address, highlighting the authority’s commitment to high-quality urban development and emphasizing the strength of its joint venture with Pace in bringing this project to life.

A key highlight of the occasion was the formalization of a sales agreement between Landchase Pvt. Ltd. and Pace. CEOs of the Investor’s World and Investors House, the key sales partners were also in presence.

This collaboration reflects strong investor confidence in the development and further reinforces its market credibility.

During the ceremony, a series of strategic proposals were presented to the Chief Guest, focusing on key areas aimed at enhancing livability and long-term growth of the region. These included the integration of DHA City into the Public EV Bus Service Network to ensure sustainable connectivity with Karachi’s urban core, inclusion of Shahra-e-Bhutto and its Link Road in the initial phases of the Safe City Project to strengthen security infrastructure, and the development of a large-scale theme park within the DHA City corridor as a landmark recreational destination for the city.

Additionally, stakeholders highlighted the need to reconsider the current location of the Karachi Toll Plaza on the M-9. In alignment with National Highway Authority bylaws regarding inter-toll distances, it was proposed that the toll plaza be relocated closer to Hyderabad, near Gulmohar City. This adjustment is expected to ease accessibility, reduce the financial burden on residents and visitors, and reinforce DHA City’s positioning within Karachi’s urban framework.

The launch and groundbreaking of Woodlands DHA City Karachi reflect a progressive and forward-thinking approach to urban development-combining infrastructure, sustainability, and lifestyle amenities. With a clear development roadmap, the project is set to redefine residential living standards in the city.
