No compromise on sovereignty, Pakistan warns India

Published on: April 22, 2026 3:44 PM

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Tarar said one year has passed since the Pahalgam incident, which he called a false flag operation. He claimed India has failed to provide credible evidence supporting its position. Furthermore, he questioned the rapid filing of the FIR, suggesting prior preparation.

Tarar said international media, Indian civil society, and analysts have raised serious concerns about the incident. He added that Indian media failed to present convincing proof and instead promoted a fabricated narrative. Consequently, he argued that the incident exposed weaknesses in India’s claims globally.

The minister also criticised India’s internal and external policies, particularly regarding Kashmir and minority rights. He said Kashmir remains an internationally recognised dispute despite India calling it an internal matter. Moreover, he alleged that minorities in India, especially Muslims, face discrimination under Hindutva ideology.

Tarar further accused India of supporting terrorism in Pakistan through proxy groups and claimed evidence has been shared with global forums. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to counter terrorism and defend its sovereignty. He warned that any hostile action by India would receive a decisive response.
