Army chief warns of decisive response to Indian aggression

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir has reiterated that any act of aggression from India would be met with a firm and immediate response, underscoring the country’s strong defence posture and commitment to national security.

Speaking at a ceremony attended by overseas Pakistanis, the army chief stressed that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully prepared to counter hostile intentions. He described the country’s defence as “impregnable” and asserted that any unprovoked action would trigger a decisive reaction.

Munir emphasised that despite India’s military resources, it would not be able to overpower Pakistan, reaffirming confidence in the operational readiness and capability of the armed forces. His remarks come amid ongoing tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours, particularly over the disputed region of Kashmir.

Reiterating Pakistan’s long-standing stance, the army chief stated that Kashmir remains a vital national interest and assured continued political, diplomatic, and moral support for the people of the region. He added that residents of Indian-administered Kashmir were not alone in their struggle and that Pakistan would continue to advocate for their rights.

The army chief further highlighted that security institutions are actively working to address both internal and external threats, ensuring stability and safeguarding sovereignty. Analysts view his remarks as part of a broader strategy to reinforce deterrence and send a clear message regarding Pakistan’s defensive resolve.

The statement reflects the military’s focus on maintaining readiness in a volatile regional environment, where periodic escalations and rhetoric continue to shape bilateral relations.
