
Qatar has warned that the Gulf region risks sliding into a “frozen conflict” as United States–Iran peace talks remain stalled. The warning is significant as diplomatic efforts to end the war and reopen key maritime routes have yet to produce results.
According to Qatar’s foreign ministry spokesperson, the region must avoid a prolonged state of tension that periodically escalates into renewed violence. He stressed the need for a sustainable peace arrangement that addresses regional security concerns.

Moreover, discussions between the United States and Iran have not reached a breakthrough, despite proposals aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The vital waterway has remained effectively closed for two months amid ongoing instability.
Additionally, Qatar emphasized its concern over the broader regional impact of continued hostilities. Gulf states have already experienced missile and drone attacks since the conflict began, raising fears of renewed escalation if diplomacy fails.
