Murad Ali Shah expressed satisfaction with the progress so far but stressed that quality standards must not be compromised during construction. He reiterated that upgrading Karachi’s major roads and transport infrastructure remains a key priority for the provincial government.
The chief minister instructed relevant departments to avoid delays and ensure that all development projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe. He also emphasised coordination among civic agencies to minimise public inconvenience during ongoing construction activities.
Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi and the Managing Director of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board were also present during the visit, along with other senior officials.
Earlier statements by provincial ministers indicate that the BRT Red Line project has faced delays due to technical and logistical challenges. Officials have acknowledged that the project may take a year or more to complete fully.
Authorities had previously directed that side roads and supporting infrastructure along University Road be completed ahead of Eid to ease traffic flow and reduce disruption for residents.
Despite delays, the provincial government maintains that large-scale development work is underway across Karachi, aimed at improving urban transport and infrastructure.
