The students of the School of Systems and Technology at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) have delivered an outstanding performance in the National Skills Competency Test 2026 (by HEC), securing prominent positions among more than 33,000 students across the country. With this achievement, UMT has once again reinforced its academic and technological leadership. This competition was held under the auspices of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).199 universities participated the competency test.

In this national level competition, UMT students actively participated in key and emerging disciplines including Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cyber Security, and achieved excellent scores, bringing national recognition to the institution.

The position holders include Rayyan Ijaz, Muhammad Abdullah, Muhammad Ali, Isha Tahir, Ayan Zeeshan, Ghulam Mustafa and Syed Burhan Ahmed. The highest achiever percentile is 99.8, with 7 students ranking among the top 1% of high scorers and 70 students securing positions within the top 10% of high achievers.

Chairman and President UMT, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, congratulated the students, faculty and the entire UMT family on this remarkable achievement. He stated that this success reflects the hard work of students, the effective guidance of faculty members and the institution’s strong academic vision. Murad emphasized that UMT is recognized for its modern technology driven education, high academic standards and practical skill-based learning and this achievement is a clear validation of that educational model that has positioned UMT as Pakistan’s leading private university in IT education.

Ibrahim Murad further said that UMT is committed to developing a highly skilled workforce for Pakistan’s digital and technological advancement, capable of meeting future challenges effectively. He added that this achievement is a true reflection of hard work, competence and innovation among the youth, and reaffirmed that UMT will continue its journey of excellence in the academic field in the years ahead.
