Atif Aslam and Ali Azmat headline Pakistan Super League 11 final ceremony

Published on: May 4, 2026 3:12 AM

A vibrant and star-studded closing ceremony brought the curtains down on the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League in Lahore, setting the stage for a highly anticipated final at a packed Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.

The event blended music, culture and cricket, drawing a large turnout of spectators who filled the venue with energy and excitement.

The ceremony unfolded with a celebratory atmosphere as fans witnessed a carefully choreographed spectacle featuring leading artists from Pakistan’s music industry. The stadium came alive with electrifying performances that reflected the country’s diverse cultural identity, while the crowd responded with enthusiasm, turning the evening into a memorable occasion.

Former Pakistan captains Zaheer Abbas and Wasim Akram took centre stage to present the PSL trophy, marking a symbolic moment ahead of the final clash.

The trophy was later handed over during a choreographed segment, adding a theatrical touch to the proceedings and heightening anticipation among fans.

Musical performances remained the highlight of the evening, with prominent singers including Ali Azmat, Atif Aslam, Aima Baig and Arif Lohar delivering powerful renditions of their popular tracks.

Their performances were met with loud cheers, as spectators sang along and waved flags, creating a festive environment across the stadium.

The ceremony also featured an elaborate fireworks display that illuminated the Lahore skyline, adding visual grandeur to the night. Bursts of colour and synchronised lighting effects enhanced the spectacle, reinforcing the celebratory tone of the league’s conclusion.

As the ceremony concluded, attention quickly shifted to the final match, which got underway shortly afterwards. Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and elected to field first, a decision that set the tactical tone for the contest. Players from both sides took to the field amid roaring applause, with the atmosphere inside the stadium remaining electric following the high-energy performances.
