The accident took place on Wednesday morning when Nair’s vehicle collided with a lorry on a highway in Kerala. Police said the impact of the crash was severe, causing critical injuries to the actor.

Officials reported that Nair suffered major chest trauma after being thrown against the steering wheel during the collision. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead shortly after arrival. His wife, Subhashri, sustained fractures in her ribs and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash to determine whether speeding, mechanical failure, or driver error played a role in the accident.

The 67-year-old actor had an extensive career spanning several decades in the Malayalam film industry. He began acting in the early 1980s and went on to feature in more than 100 films, earning recognition for his supporting roles and character portrayals.

Throughout his career, Nair worked alongside some of the biggest names in South Indian cinema, including Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran. His performances were widely appreciated for their versatility and consistency.

He is survived by his wife and daughter, Rajshree S Nair. It is currently unclear whether his daughter was present in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
