Flight operations at Islamabad International Airport may face disruptions over the coming days due to operational reasons, according to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).
The advisory indicates that both arrivals and departures could experience delays on May 8, 9 and 10 during specified time windows.

According to the notice, flight operations may be affected on May 8 between 10:45am and 12:15pm. Additional disruptions are also expected on May 9 and May 10 between 8:00pm and 9:15pm.
The PAA stated that the temporary scheduling adjustments are being implemented due to operational requirements, although no detailed explanation was provided regarding the cause of the restrictions.
Airlines operating flights to Islamabad have been advised to take precautionary measures, including carrying sufficient holding fuel to manage potential delays during the affected periods.
Holding fuel allows aircraft to remain airborne while waiting for clearance to land, reducing operational risk in case of extended air traffic delays.
The aviation authority noted that similar NOTAMs had been issued in the past, including earlier in March, when flight operations at Islamabad airport were temporarily suspended for two hours due to operational reasons.
During that instance as well, airlines were instructed to ensure additional fuel capacity to accommodate possible holding patterns.
The repeated issuance of such advisories highlights occasional adjustments in air traffic management at the capital’s main airport, which handles both domestic and international flights.
Passengers travelling during the affected time slots are advised to stay in contact with their airlines for updated schedules and possible changes in departure or arrival times.
Airlines are expected to adjust flight plans accordingly to minimise inconvenience to passengers, though some delays may still occur depending on air traffic conditions.

The PAA has not announced any full suspension of operations, indicating that the airport will remain functional throughout the period with only partial timing adjustments.
Further updates are expected if operational conditions change or if additional advisories are issued by aviation authorities.
