According to court records, the amount had been deposited as a guarantee during earlier legal proceedings related to the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. Following the conclusion of the matter by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), a plea was filed seeking the return of the security deposit.
During the hearing, the court reviewed the legal status of the case and the completion of related accountability proceedings. After examining the submissions, the bench allowed the refund request and ordered that the deposited amount be returned in accordance with legal procedure.
The Chaudhry Sugar Mills case had been under investigation for several years before being concluded by relevant authorities, after which multiple connected legal matters, including the return of surety deposits, were brought before the court.
Officials familiar with the proceedings said the decision relates only to the refund of the security amount and does not reopen or alter the final status of the case itself.

The ruling highlights procedural aspects of accountability cases in which security deposits are often required during investigations and are returned once proceedings are formally concluded.
