Two new routes of People Bus Service inaugurated in Khairpur

Published on: May 13, 2026 10:15 AM

Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon while addressing the inauguration ceremony of two new routes of the Peoples Bus Service in Khairpur Mirs, said that the day marks an important and joyous occasion for the people of Khairpur.

He stated that under the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, President Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur and the Chief Minister of Sindh, the Peoples Bus Service is being launched to provide affordable and comfortable transportation facilities to the citizens of Khairpur. He said that Pakistan Peoples Party has carried out historic development works during every tenure of its government and completed record public welfare projects in villages, talukas and districts across Sindh.

Despite these achievements, the party continues to face criticism and media trials, although the scale of development in Sindh remains unmatched.

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the Special Economic Zone in Khairpur district was established during the tenure of former Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah. He further said that Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences, the only hospital in Pakistan providing lung and liver transplant facilities, is a matter of pride for the people of Khairpur.

He remarked that the people of Khairpur are fortunate to have sincere public representatives and added that the district has consistently expressed confidence in the Pakistan Peoples Party by electing its candidates with public support. He said that had PPP representatives failed to serve the people, they would not have achieved electoral success in their constituencies.

The provincial minister said that under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the world’s largest free housing initiative has been launched, under which the Sindh government is providing free homes to 2.2 million families. He added that Labor Cards for workers and Hari Cards for farmers have also been introduced to ensure their welfare and financial support.

He stated that despite propaganda and political criticism, the Pakistan Peoples Party continues to secure greater success in every election, reflecting increasing public trust in the party across Sindh.

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that two new routes of the Peoples Bus Service are being launched in Khairpur today. Despite rising global fuel prices, the Sindh government is providing modern air-conditioned buses to the public at subsidized fares.

He said the provincial government is paying part of each passenger’s fare to reduce the financial burden on commuters. He announced that additional buses would also be allocated for Khairpur under the new transport scheme, while Pink Bus Service and Pink Scooty Service would soon be introduced to facilitate women with safe and dignified transportation.

He further said that development work on water supply schemes, roads and other infrastructure projects is progressing rapidly throughout Sindh. Referring to political opponents, he said some parties form alliances before elections but continue to face rejection from the public.

Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that every political party has the democratic right to participate in politics; however, criticism should remain within the bounds of decency and ethics. He said that the Pakistan Peoples Party enjoys unmatched public support in Sindh.

He added that Pakistan’s youth need energetic and visionary leadership like Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who has effectively represented and defended Pakistan at international forums while countering India’s narrative.

He said the world witnessed the bravery and professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces in defending the country.

He added that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto made Pakistan a nuclear power, while Benazir Bhutto strengthened the country’s missile technology. President Asif Ali Zardari also played an important role in strengthening national defense through key agreements.

He further said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari strongly raised the Kashmir issue at the global level and effectively highlighted the voice of the Kashmiri people internationally. On the occasion, MNA Syeda Nafisa Shah Jilani, MNA Syed Javed Ali Shah, MPA Halar Khan Wassan, PPP District President Nawab Khan Wassan and Deputy Commissioner Khairpur Altaf Ahmed Chachar also addressed the ceremony and termed the launch of the new bus routes a positive step for public convenience.

Later, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon formally inaugurated the new routes of the Peoples Bus Service by cutting the ribbon at the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Bus Terminal.
