Pakistan committed to minority rights: Azam Nazeer Tarar

Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said the government is working to protect the rights of both the majority and minority communities in the country. He made the remarks while addressing a conference organized by the Minority Rights Forum. The statement underscores ongoing official efforts on constitutional and human rights issues.

Tarar said the Constitution is a binding document that all citizens and institutions are sworn to uphold. He added that adherence to constitutional principles is essential for national harmony. Moreover, he stressed that collective responsibility is key to ensuring fairness in society.

The minister said that if everyone plays their role responsibly, both majority and minority communities can live in peace. He noted that the government is actively working on protecting the rights of religious minorities. Furthermore, he reiterated the importance of equality under the law.

Tarar emphasized that respecting the Constitution is a fundamental duty of all stakeholders. He said this responsibility applies equally to state institutions and citizens. Additionally, he highlighted the need for continued commitment to legal and institutional safeguards.
