K-P announces four-day Eid holidays

Published on: May 23, 2026 7:25 PM

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced four-day public holidays for Eidul Azha from May 26 to May 29. The decision applies across the province and affects government offices, educational institutions, and businesses during the festive period.

According to an official notification, all relevant institutions will remain closed during the announced holidays. The move aligns with preparations for Eid celebrations across the province. Authorities said the schedule aims to facilitate public convenience during the religious occasion.

Earlier, the federal government announced three Eid holidays from May 26 to May 28. Sindh has also declared a four-day holiday period for Eidul Azha. The differing schedules highlight variations in provincial holiday arrangements across the country.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirmed the sighting of the Zilhajj moon earlier this week. It announced that Eidul Azha will be observed on May 27 across Pakistan. The announcement set the official timeline for nationwide festivities.
