A terrorist attack targeted a shuttle train near the Pishin stop in Quetta, causing panic among passengers travelling ahead of the Eid holidays. Officials said the attack struck a train carrying ordinary civilians, including women, children and elderly passengers returning home to celebrate Eid with their families. The explosion damaged parts of the train and also affected nearby vehicles and surrounding buildings in the area.
Authorities described the assault as a cowardly act aimed at spreading fear and instability by targeting unarmed civilians instead of security forces. According to officials, the attackers deliberately selected a soft target because they failed to confront Pakistani security forces directly in open operations. Consequently, the incident once again raised serious concerns regarding militant activities targeting public infrastructure in Balochistan.

The attack reportedly occurred near Chaman Phatak, where the train was moving through a populated area carrying passengers from different regions. Security officials stated that the attackers showed complete disregard for innocent human lives by attempting to strike civilians travelling peacefully before the Eid celebrations. Emergency teams and law enforcement personnel quickly reached the scene to begin rescue efforts and secure the affected area.
Meanwhile, officials claimed that hostile foreign-backed elements were attempting to disrupt peace and development projects in Balochistan through repeated acts of terrorism. Authorities further stated that Pakistan’s recent diplomatic and strategic achievements had increased frustration among groups seeking to create instability inside the country. As a result, security agencies intensified investigations to identify those responsible for planning and carrying out the attack.

Government representatives strongly condemned the targeting of passenger trains and civilian infrastructure, calling it a shameful violation of human values and regional traditions. Officials stressed that attacks against ordinary travellers, especially families and elderly passengers, clearly exposed the brutality and inhuman mindset of the perpetrators behind such violence. Furthermore, authorities pledged to continue operations against militant networks threatening public safety across the province.
Security officials warned that groups involved in foreign-sponsored terrorism wanted to damage Pakistan’s image internationally by creating fear and unrest through attacks on civilians. However, they argued that such incidents only exposed the desperation and moral failure of the attackers and their supporters. Meanwhile, investigations remained underway as security forces increased patrols and surveillance across sensitive areas in Quetta and surrounding districts.
