
Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb announced a Rs10,000 cash bonus for each Suthra Punjab sanitation worker following Eidul Adha operations. She said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved the reward to recognize the workers’ efforts. The announcement affects thousands of sanitation staff who participated in the province-wide cleanliness campaign.
Speaking at a press conference in Lahore alongside Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique, Aurangzeb praised sanitation teams for working under extreme weather conditions. She said the workers played a vital role in maintaining cleanliness throughout the Eid holidays. According to her, more than 41,000 citizens contacted the official helpline during the festive period.

Aurangzeb said government departments and district administrations coordinated closely to ensure successful cleanliness operations across Punjab. She noted that monitoring systems remained active and sanitation arrangements were also implemented at cattle markets. The senior minister added that public feedback on the campaign had been largely positive.
Furthermore, she stated that the Suthra Punjab initiative became one of the most discussed topics on social media nationwide. Aurangzeb credited sanitation workers for the programme’s success and emphasized that their contributions were essential to achieving the operation’s goals. She also encouraged provinces to learn from successful public service initiatives implemented elsewhere.

Addressing questions about Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s health, Aurangzeb said her recent surgery was successful and was performed at Sharif Medical City. She added that the chief minister personally monitored Eid operations and remains committed to public service. According to the minister, Maryam Nawaz will not travel abroad for further treatment.
