Published on: June 2, 2026 7:30 PM

The office of King Charles has marked a historic royal anniversary with a special update that celebrates the legacy of Queen Elizabeth II and her iconic coronation. The message was shared through the Royal Collection Trust, drawing global attention from royal watchers and fans.

On June 2, the official social media account of the Royal Collection Trust released a video featuring a historic dress worn by Queen Elizabeth II during her coronation in 1953. Furthermore, the post highlighted the significance of the day in royal history and its continued cultural importance.

The accompanying statement reminded viewers that Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation took place on this date in 1953, marking one of the most defining moments in modern monarchy. In addition, the post encouraged the public to view the dress currently displayed at The King’s Gallery in London.

The exhibition titled Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style showcases the late Queen’s clothing and accessories, with the display running until April 18, 2027. Moreover, it forms part of a wider effort to preserve royal heritage and present personal items from different stages of her life.

King Charles and Queen Camilla also visited the exhibition earlier on April 20, viewing what is described as the largest collection of Queen Elizabeth’s fashion pieces ever assembled. The display includes more than 200 items along with rare archival materials such as sketches, fabric samples, and personal correspondence.

Officials stated that the exhibition was originally organized to mark what would have been Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday. Consequently, it offers a detailed insight into her life, style, and influence, while also strengthening public engagement with royal history and cultural preservation.
