
The federal government has pledged full support to the Sindh government in its efforts to improve law and order and combat the growing threat of drugs and crime, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said during a meeting with Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon in Islamabad.

According to an official statement, the two leaders held detailed discussions on strategies to curb drug trafficking and strengthen security across Sindh, particularly in major urban centres such as Karachi.

During the meeting, Naqvi assured the provincial government that the Centre would extend all possible assistance to help maintain peace and tackle criminal activities. He also praised the Sindh government and law enforcement agencies for their recent operations against dacoits and criminal networks operating in the province’s riverine regions.
The interior minister commended the Sindh Police for its role in restoring law and order, highlighting the force’s professionalism, courage and determination while operating in difficult conditions. He said the successful actions against criminal elements reflected the commitment of security institutions to ensuring public safety.
Sharjeel Inam Memon stressed the importance of close coordination between the federal and provincial governments in addressing national challenges. He noted that cooperation among all state institutions was essential for maintaining security, improving governance and protecting citizens.
The senior minister reaffirmed the Sindh government’s commitment to intensifying efforts against crime and strengthening law enforcement across the province. He said authorities would continue taking measures to eliminate criminal networks and create a safer environment for residents.
Both leaders agreed that stronger collaboration between the federation and Sindh would lead to more effective solutions for public issues and improve service delivery. They emphasised that coordinated efforts were key to tackling security concerns, curbing the narcotics trade and enhancing governance.
