A cybercrime case has been registered against Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar under the PECA Act. The case stems from harassment allegations made by actress Momina Iqbal before federal investigators. The development carries legal implications for the lawmaker and those named in the complaint.
The case was registered with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency on the actress’s complaint. According to the FIR, authorities named Chadhar, his wife Sumaira Khan, and other alleged accomplices. The complaint accuses them of cyber harassment, blackmail, and illegal surveillance. Investigators have started examining the allegations and gathering relevant evidence.

According to the FIR, the accused allegedly monitored the actress without authorization and issued threats. The complaint also alleges threats were directed at her family members. Furthermore, the FIR claims a dispute emerged after Momina declined a marriage proposal. The complaint states this followed revelations regarding Chadhar’s existing marriage.
The FIR further alleges that private videos were used in an attempt to blackmail the actress. It also claims the accused caused the breakup of her engagement in 2023. According to the complaint, false allegations were made against her during that period. However, investigators have yet to publicly verify the claims.

Meanwhile, a sessions court in Lahore approved Chadhar’s interim bail during proceedings. The court barred authorities from arresting him until June 24. It also directed relevant agencies not to apprehend the lawmaker during this period. Further investigation continues, while detailed responses from both sides remain awaited.
