In view of the intense heat and heat wave, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has issued special instructions to the relevant institutions and district administration to provide relief to the public.
The CM has directed that shade and shelters should be arranged in important squares, intersections, public places and markets of every city so that citizens can be protected from the intense heat.
She has ordered to ensure the availability of cold water, fans and air coolers at all wagon stands, bus terminals and railway stations. Citizens visiting government offices have also been directed to be provided with cold water.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has appealed to the citizens to avoid leaving their homes unnecessarily during extreme heat and humidity, while taking special care of women, the elderly and children.
Instructions have also been issued regarding the ongoing summer camps in educational institutions to ensure proper arrangement of cold water, fans and air coolers for students and teachers.
Furthermore, the traffic police have been directed not to stop motorcyclists unnecessarily in the scorching sun. Especially if there are family or children riding on the motorcycle, they should avoid making them stand in the sun.
